Q2: Webber goes top. Schumacher and Button out

July 31, 2010 by Joe Saward

Mark Webber set the fastest time of the Q2 session in Hungary, beating his team-mate Sebastian Vettel by four-hundredths of a second. The pair were seven-tenths faster than the nearest challenger, Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari. It was a surprise to see Vitaly Petrov fourth fastest ahead of Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes, Felipe Massa’s Ferrari and Robert Kubica’s Renault. Lewis Hamilton was eighth, ahead of Pedro de la Rosa’s Sauber and Nico Hulkenberg’s Williams.

Out went Jenson Button, Rubens Barrichello, Adriuan Sutil, Michael Schumacher, the two Toro Rossos and Liuzzi’s Force India.
