A new way to sign autographs…

December 16, 2011 by Joe Saward

Mika Hakkinen, Jenson Button and Johnnie Walker is an interesting combination. Check this out.

Gives new meaning to the expression “under the influence of Johnnie Walker”.

Joe, will you set a good example for us and sign the pact too? And what brand of tires are on your car?

I don’t see why not… and I have no idea.

What is your car? :) (I think citeroen.. or maybe fiat?)

          You think wrong.

“half gas or full gas…..? Full gas”

    Legend.

Were they signing under the influence?

Next week, Jenson and Mika will highlight the issues of passive smoking by doing some doughnut-shaped smoke rings.

    I like that.

Mike always cracks me up. His press conferences were some of my favorites.

    Hey Joe,

Apparently Bernie has told Al Jazeera that “We’re going to be in Russia in 2014, South Africa, probably in 2013 even”

Cape Town in 2013 or somewhere else? Surely not. What games are these?

Here’s where I came across the quote: http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/12433/7381790/

Yes, I saw them. It was actually in an interview with Sir David Frost. Remember what I said about what Bernie says.
There has been a “probably” about South Africa for about 15 years now.

I wonder if one of them kept the pen..

Ah, Johnnie Walker Black – Christopher Hitchen’s choice of whiskey – who just of died of a cancer most likely caused by drinking and smoking.

It is the only tolerable blend, though.

    Joe,

I read today that Caterham have just passed their crash test and that Williams have then scheduled.

Is this information normally available to you as Journos and does it translate into an article on the build race and where the different teams are?

I guess if they keep it quiet then it is not possible but it would be interesting to understand which teams have completed and passed crash tests ‘today’ and if this any indication of having cars ready for testing on time for the first test.

For example I am fairly sure that HRT have conducted a test yet 

Hi Joe, how can I get a ticket to your discussion / talk in Melbourne next year?

Wait a while and it will be announced.

I’ll bet Jos Verstappen is wishing he’d signed the pact right about now.

Seem to remember Nigel Mansell doing something similar in a Williams. Looked like jenson had to work a bit harder than Mika, did a good job though. Could have been Lella Lombardi’s big moment!

I was hoping to see video of you putting a nice “JS” on the tarmac… in which case you’d likely need a new set ;-)

Awesome video. I like the creative way McLaren involve their drivers (and former drivers) and their sponsors.
