I’m a bit confused by your latest article regarding the Australian Grand-Prix, stating that “It is understood logistics company DHL pulled out of its naming rights sponsorship after negotiations with race supremo Bernie Ecclestone.”.

I’m wondering how is it possible as Qantas is back at this role since the 2010 edition. It was also true at the 2011 edition, as the official F1 site clearly states it (http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2011/844/). As far as I know, DHL was only title sponsor for the late Turkish Grand-Prix…

The Aussie GP just released a statement saying that Qantas would remain the title sponsor: “The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is continuing its longstanding relationship with Qantas as it confirms the iconic Australian brand as naming rights and official airline partner for the 2012 Formula 1™ Qantas Australian Grand Prix.” ( http://www.grandprix.com.au/news/agpc-announces-qantas-continue-title-rights-sponsor-2012-formula-1%E2%84%A2-qantas-australian-grand-pri)

It’s very possible DHL pulled out as the 2011 Qantas deal was only for a single year, again they stepped in at the last minute. And the 2012 Qantas announcement is very late considering there’s less than a month to go.

Off off topic, but did you see that the Royal Mail have just released a set of first class stamps showing ‘Historic Brits’, one of which depicts “Odette Hallowes 1912-1995 SOE agent in occupied France”?

Amusing thought about the Trojan horse at Maranello…
