Sebastian Vettel took pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal on Saturday afternoon, setting a lap time that was two-tenths of a second faster than the best achieved by Lewis Hamilton. Fernando Alonso was third in his Ferrari, ahead of Mark Webber’s Red Bull, Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes and Felipe Massa’s Ferrari.
Romain Grosjean was seventh ahead of Paul di Resta’s Force India, Michael Schumacher’s Mercedes and the McLaren of a troubled Jenson Button, who did not have a final run.

Why was Vettel quicker over 2 sectors? Is it just that the RedBull suits this track more than the McLaren ? What are your predictions for the race tomorrow ?
Well in half an hour we shall see some of the qualifying in the uk on BBC.
It sounds like several teams made fundamental mistakes. Tomorrow there is BTCC on ITV4 no GP until highlights at 22:30.
Hi Joe, many thanks for hosting your “Audience with Joe” last night, I had a fantastic evening!
Just one question that I didn’t get a chance to ask you: You seemed quite adamant that if Webber were to leave Red Bull, then Vergne would replace him? Why not Ricciardo? The two STR drivers do seem to be quite evenly matched, but surely Ricciardo has been quicker so far… although admittedly he does need to improve his racecraft. Thoughts?
Cheers
Matt
Just a feeling
Perhaps Michael would have more fun with Red Bull than he is having with that second rate lot he is with.
Have a fun race,
Fettle but not yet vittles?
on my way to the door . .
Hi Joe,
Just wondering if you have encountered any student demos yet or got any feelings during your time on the ground as to planned actions.
Nothing serious
Well BTCC has now disappeared to the web (supposedly) and been replaced by the French Open tennis men’s final.
If only this dratted flash player would work after Firefox went to version 13.0!.
Why can’t they leave it when it’s working ok?
