Q2: Vettel again »

Sebastian stays ahead

June 9, 2012 by Joe Saward

Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time of the Q1 session in Montreal, beating Jenson Button by a tenth. Lewis Hamilton was a tenth behind his team-mate while Michael Schumacher was fourth, ahead of Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber, Pastor Maldonado, Bruno Senna, Kimi Raikkonen and Paul di Resta.

Out went Jean-Eric Vergne and the usual backmarkers: the two Caterhams, the two HRTs and the two Marussias. It was however interesting to note that modifications to the HRTs have made the cars competitive with the Marussias.
