    Hi Joe Welcome back.

My son took these pics at Reims a few weeks back. I noticed that all the ads, painting and signs look new. did Ron Howard use this in Rush?

If the pics are of any interest please use, he has not copyrighted them.

No, I believe it has been tarted up because they now have an historic meeting, a la Goodwood.

      • on August 21, 2012 at 12:32 pm rpaco

It is the “Friends of” that have done it apparently. (the tarting up) http://www.amis-du-circuit-de-gueux.fr/Pendant-les-vacances-les-travaux
Cant read French myself, but the place certainly has some history.

      Rpaco

Which museum with the single-seaters did your son visit? Is that at Reims too?

      Martin

I asked him and he said “Yes, the car museum is in Reims itself”.
Some odd looking bubble cars in the background. Actually there is a bubble car museum on the road to Boston from here (Between New York and Langrick, that’s Lincs UK not USA on B1192) Driven past it hundreds of times.

  6. on August 20, 2012 at 9:03 pm iiro

Welcome back. It has been good holidays with light hearted news items and sicussions. Makes one wonder why the whole season can’t go as easily as these last two weeks.

We’re waiting with the proverbial baited breath.

Thank god! It’s been tough… Maldonado can’t drive a demonstration lap without crashing and apparently new engine regulations might make a difference!? ffs!
You must be gutted at missing such revelations…!

Joe: It has seemed a long time since we last heard from you; hope you had a great holiday! Looking forward to following you and the second half of this exciting & fascinating 2012 F1 season!

Good to see you Joe. What do you do with no F1? Gardening? Reading?

    I’d like to say … tap-dancing.

    • on August 21, 2012 at 7:13 am elephino

The only gardening F1 people do is “leave” :)

  12. on August 21, 2012 at 6:43 am IainT

At last…….seems like an eternity without news or comment!!

Welcome back. Hope the holiday was restfull

    Hello joe!
Fine you are back! Missed to read your F1 cronicles!

As a Belgian F1 fan i wanted to know if you heard something about Jérome d’Ambrosio if hé would drive in FP1 at spa, or maby something about his future ?

    Thx!

    • on August 21, 2012 at 9:10 am Joe Saward

I don’t know. Everyone is still on holiday. Such a thing would be logical, wouldn’t it? Kimi knows the place pretty well…

      • on August 21, 2012 at 1:20 pm Jean-François

yes indeed in first place looks logic , but i heard of something like an new ‘double DRS’ for the lotus … and because of that new DRS things have changed. But yeah i think you know as little as we do, complete silence from the managment from JDA (gravity) no statement or anything. Hope things will change within the comming days.
There are a lot of belgian fans that begin to doubt about the goodwill of JDA and his managment for some clear statement or whatever. In my opinion the lack of sponsoring for him is due to his silence and no communication with the public etc….

Will hear more soon i hope! If you catch something about him! Pleas keep us posted! Would be nice!

        Thx

It has certainly been quiet on the F1 front, BBC website virtually unchanged since the last race, only Martin Whitmarsh stepping down at FOTA has been noted.

Hope you had a decent break, nice to have you back again.

  15. on August 22, 2012 at 11:55 pm Lotus
