A sort-of day off

December 14, 2012 by Joe Saward

Today I am in the UK and going to have lunch with the folk at Mercedes GP. It is not just me, I should add, but all the British F1 press guys. It is a “tradition” that goes back to the days when the team was called Honda, although the venue has changed from Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons. It will be a fun day, but if there is news breaking things might be a little slow… And if there is any news breaking in the later afternoon, be sure that the people announcing either don’t understand the media, or they want to bury the information!

Have fun Joe. You won’t be far away from me, so if it gets too boring or the food is not to your liking (haha) You can always come round here for a cup of tea and a biscuit and tell me all about being on the inside of F1!

Joe, can I take this opportunity to wish you a happy Xmas and to thank you for your work this year. Your blog posts inform and educate and have given me a much better picture of Formula 1 which I appreciate. I don’t always agree with your POV but that is healthy. Please do keep up the good work.

What a great timing ;) Is this a meeting with management or the folk that get the work done?

Wait, is it already time for Marussia to get an offer they can’t refuse, and leave? Now I’m intrigued! ;-)

    Enjoy your day, Joe!

No idea. I ate what I was given. Turkey.

BTW, was Ferrari not doing something similar? Or was this superseded ages ago by the snow thing in Madonna d. C.?

    Joe,

We really need to talk succession planning ;-) I’m more than happy to throw my hat in and carry your bags for you.

Have fun Joe, hopefuly you can get some insight into yesterdays anouncement, it’d interesting to know what went on behind closed doors, maybe ask Mr. Lauda.

“although the venue has changed from Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons” so re your other post about heading for Bicester…

A change of venue…? So now that they’ve employed and overpent on Lewis H, have they had to settle for taking you chaps & chapesses to the Littlebury in Bicester instead? ;-)
