Out now, the GP+ Review of the Year

December 21, 2012 by Joe Saward

Screen Shot 2012-12-21 at 13.24.51

GP+ was the first e-magazine in Formula 1 and five years later it is still going strong. It is produced within hours of the chequered flag at every Grand Prix. It is put together in the Media Centres, written by professional F1 journalists and featuring the work of highly experienced F1 photographers. We have access that others can only dream of having.

The Review of the Year is a round up of our thoughts on the 2012 season. It is forthright and controversial and is illustrated with all the best shots of the F1 season.

IN THIS ISSUE

… the GP+ driver ratings for the year

… what Formula 1 really costs

… how many espressos were served at the Pirelli motorhome in 2012

… David Tremayne goes into detail about his unusual summer holiday

… Joe Saward eavesdrops in a London pub

…and we look at the future shape of the F1 calendar.

Thanks Joe. Finding this blog and discovering GP+ has been one highlights of the F1 year for me (in a year that was not short of highlights). I really enjoy your writing so keep up the good work for 2013.

Great review, thanks to you and the others for very good and consistent reporting.

Have renewed my GP+ for 2013.

Who was the lady on P19 of the review waving at the camera? Liked that picture, good to see it made it into the review from the year’s race reports.

Best wishes for 2013 and have a great Xmas.

“Who was the lady on P19 of the review waving at the camera?”
I think she was actually trying to hold her cigarette up, out of shot. but agreed, she is very easy on the eye and looks awfully familiar. (sussed it, there is a UK actress who looks very like her)

Luca is continuing his provocations or “trash talk” in a manner unbecoming his position. He must be feeling hard done by, having lost his rule veto, but seems inclined to wave his sour grapes about in public, in a less than suitable manner for a chap about to take on Sig bunga bunga at being the next capo di Italia.
He has been demanding aggression in the next car design, exactly what he did last year !

As always an excellent mag guys!
Please tell DT he is a nut case, but I expect he knows that, oh yes and it sounds like something I would love to do too. He must have been seriously rich before he started all that Jet car stuff! What details of the book please. (If we can’t have another JS book maybe a DT one will be entertaining)

Thanks to you, Peter, David and all the others that put together the best publication in F1. Putting aside the great race coverage, the history, politics, tech lessons, travel guide and all of the other things I have read in GP+ this year, that photo of Kobayashi airborne was worth the price of the subscription.

My first year as a subscriber, and well pleased I was by the production as well as the commentary and insights.

Thank you all for your efforts!
