The British Grand Prix is to take place over four days this year, rather than three days as has been the norm. The circuit says that it will have an open pitlane on Thursday and there is already a Kaiser Chiefs concert planned for Thursday evening. The decision is designed to give fans more value for their money and help ease the traffic as it will help to spread the traffic going into Silverstone.
Silverstone says that the fans are intrigued by the new rules and happy to see Lewis Hamilton doing well. The circuit reports that ticket sales rose after Melbourne and then spiked more significantly after Lewis’s victory in Kuala Lumpur. The sales are at around the same level as they were a year ago.
This is at odds with the much-flogged idea that F1 fans care only about the sound of the cars.
