The Sauber F1 Team has announced Felipe Nasr as its driver for the 2015 season and Banco do Brasil as its partner. Felipe Nasr completes the driver line-up alongside Marcus Ericsson. The 22-year-old Brazilian was the test and reserve driver for the Williams F1 Team this year, while also participating in the 2014 GP2 series, in which he is currently lying second with four wins. In 2011 he won the British Formula 3 championship and finished second in the Macau Grand Prix. Prior to that he was Formula BMW Europe champion in 2009. Banco do Brasil will become a significant sponsor of the team.
The news means that Giedo Van der Garde, who was thought to have had a deal with Sauber, will be on the market. It is believed that the team agreed to terminate its deal with the Dutch driver. He will be a key player in whatever is left of the 2015 driver market.
