Here is the new Haas F1 car. The car will be raced this year by Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutierrez. This is probably the most intriguing of the new cars as the F1 world has little real idea where the team will fit into the F1 pecking order. New teams generally struggle but the US-based team has had the car built a team of its engineers (and contracted Dallara employees) at Dallara in Italy. This group have been working in the Ferrari wind tunnel and have used as many Ferrari components as they are allowed to use. The team has a base in the UK from where the racing team will be run and there is a strong complement of engineers in Kannapolis, North Carolina, in a factory next door to the main Stewart Haas Racing facility.
The livery is no great surprise as the aim of the project is to promote Gene Haas’s CNC machine business around the globe. The team is being largely funded by Haas himself.
