On Channel 4 at 21:00 Anyone who doesn’t know Guy, check on youtube, but take a tranquilliser before viewing onboard footage of the TT.
Also of note DT’s mate Andy Green was on tv last night talking of Bloodhound SSC (with 3 engines) which may begin slow speed runs under 300 mph in the not too distant future. Seems that they have a Roll Royce EJ200 (No not Eddie Jordan) engine,same as one of the Typhoons from down my road. The biggest Jaguar engine is used just to drive the fuel pump, and there are Nammo rocket engines too. DT should do a piece in GP+ (It comes under the “+” bit) Like F1 they need more sponsors.
Mey… whatever. Another pseudo British car brand buying their name onto the work of others.
FYI.. the whole James Bond thing has jumped the shark off that Island. Big world out here. Nap Soup.

As for your recipe, thanks, can I be cheeky and suggest the addition of peas and gravy does add a certain something.

1. Not a primary sponsorship as all have previously agreed AM doesn’t have the funding? No huge sponsorship benefit to Red Bull.
2. Other than Adrian designing the new AM hypercar, what does Red bull gain from this?
Answer: Possible engine resolution for 2017, a Mercedes power unit rebranded as Aston Martin would solve multiple problems for all three parties.
“Wondering about engine negotiations?” we have been told a lot about engine negotiations, the starting assurance was “terminating contract with Renault” using a “Volkswagen engine” using a “Mercedes engine” a “FERRARI engine” a “Honda engine” using the “Renault engine block as a base” using the “alternative engine” sticking a watch sticker to the Renault engine valve cover, that an engine output forced equivalency will come into force, and now using another sticker called Aston Martin which some are already believing it will lead back to a Mercedes engine, just keep hoping!.
This is the same Aston Martin that last year laid off over 10% of their UK workforce. I thought that they were looking for new investors to come on board not looking to shell out! As for the Newey hypercar, maybe that is what the world needs just now but my gut feeling is that it does not and with a certain amount of anti-car sentiment around these days maybe the Veyrons and their ilk have had their day though I may be being overly pessimistic. I would think that Aston need to sell more of their bread and butter exotica. Anyway the car is still presumably going to be a Red Bull and not an Aston Martin but maybe it gives Red Bull a foot in the door with regard to getting a Mercedes Power Unit – Toto Wolfe’s worst nightmare! I really can’t make a lot of sense out of the arrangement!

I started watching motor racing in 1971 at the age of 10. I was a small boy and the thrill of motor racing instantly infected me forever. Point is: I have seen a LOT of racing of all types. Formula One has slowly but surely disintegrated since, as similar to all walks of life, the rich and politically savvy (the two go together) have hijacked the sport. Now we see a “democracy” amongst the teams whereas we need a “sensible dictator”. At the risk of being called an old timer, F1 racing was and would be simply better without all the very expensive aero rubbish, no refuelling and one set of tyres. And please don’t quote 2006 to me, since safety was only compromised that year through a tyre war. In fact, interestingly the 06 season was one of the better ones. AND please no freezing of engines, a huge farce!! With that as background, on this qualifying fiasco: well my only judgment would be “an unnecessary complication”. And it just proves (again) that we must tinker with trivialities and in this case a decent system (!) rather than tackle the main issues. Years ago (20 probably) drivers and sensible F1 analysts were then saying aero grip must be reduced and mechanical grip increased. But with all the political jockeying the opposite happens. My view is if a team or manufacturer does not like an imposed direction, then go. F1 will survive in healthy fashion.
Arggghhhh!!!! The new qualifying format. That is the biggest single pile of rubbish I’ve ever seen in F1!!! There was nothing wrong with the old qualifying format, it was one of the few things in F1 that did work. We fans diss F1 because we are so passionate about it, not because we are negative. I can’t believe the incompetence of the people in charge. The contrast in intelligence between the ultra clever engineers who run and design the cars compared to the baffoons that lead the sport is truly startling. They are killing F1. What about the people who tuned into F1 for the first time when they watched qualifying today? Or those who were going to give the sport one last chance? I know this isn’t the topic for this post Joe, but I just had to get it off my chest and please feel free to repost my comments when you blog about qualifying. My blood is boiling.

As to the Aston branding, I couln’t see the badge on the car and the TV squad didn’t see fit to mention it. Not even Mr Coulthard, who still has the odd link with RBR.
