Come and get it… the GP+ seasonal review

screen-shot-2016-12-11-at-18-22-56It’s that time of year again and the GP+ seasonal review is ready for subscribers to download. If you are signing up for 2017 you can get the magazine for free and we always include the review in the following year’s subscription – to be you all a taste of what we do.

It you are bored with vanilla copy and click-bait, you need to revive your passion for the sport by signing up for GP+, a magazine that is produced by four of the most passionate F1 reporters you will find. We’ve been around the block a few times and we know the history of the sport and we love to share it all with out readers at a price that is simply disgraceful. We do it because we love what we do and while we also want to make a buck, we believe that by attracting more people at a sensible price we can achieve so much more than all those who follow the “premium model” and rip off the fans.

If you want to buy someone a Christmas gift you can do that as well, as we will deliver you a coupon to pass on the to the recipient and we provide the access codes for them on Christmas Day – no matter where they are in the world.

The review of the year is always the biggest magazine we produce each year and this one has 110 pages, giving our impressions  (and opinions – often controversial) of the season and how the different teams fared. You may not agree with us, but it is always interesting to see what the insiders think… We also have the annual GP+ ranking of drivers and teams, which usually produces plenty of comment.

On top of that…

– We look into Nico Rosberg’s stunning retirement announcement

– We talk to the unusual Gene Haas about F1, NASCAR …and a little bit of Formula 5000

– A look into how the French GP has been able to return.

– We tell the story of “Fearless George” Abecassis. F1 driver, team owner and war hero

– We remember the great Paul Rosche and McLaren’s charming Peter Stayner

– We review the latest books that might excite at Christmas time

– DT looks into why Nico quit

– JS salutes the Stuttgart Steamroller

– The Hack wonders why no-one saw the signs…

– Plus we have the Pictures of the Year from Peter Nygaard and his fellow light-capturers

GP+ is the fastest F1 magazine. It comes out before some of the teams have even managed to get a press release out. It is an e-magazine that you can download and keep on your own devices and it works on computers, tablets and even smartphones. And it’s a magazine written by real F1 journalists not virtual wannabes… Our team have attended more than 2,000 Grands Prix between us.

GP+ is an amazing bargain – and it is designed to be, so that fans will sign up and share the passion that we have for the sport. We don’t want to exploit you, we want you to join the fun. In 2017 you’ll get 22 fabulous issues for £32.99, plus the 2016 season review completely free of charge.

      1. I create online content – my camera club mag actually – and these chaps (above) have missed a trick which Joe and his confederate didn’t. The way to go is landscape*, baby! Like, duh!

        * My abject apologies to those with portrait monitors… 😉

        1. it’s incredible the screen space wasted, even if not worse on mobiles..

I got the reason why no landscape printed editions abound: pages tear too easily. Lots of other tech/practical tech like how the binding machines handle stacking the pages to settle the alignment, also prohibitive. Not that that matters… just it is surprising why landscape is ignored, with every darned tablet etc the way they are… Inspired me to attempt a big rework of a web project. One for myself, so the drip drip of subtle hinting is much appreciate as a influence!

aside, Sorry Joe, i’ve been off and then precipitously offer .. ran myself ragged and crashed out in unspectacular style. I had been jumping up and down enthused about a ton of stuff (not collated nor considered, the delight was in the origin being here) before I got a grip. As always, I find inspiration from GP+, the latest actually being acted upon in a determined manner, & I think something will show for the trouble, got a good feeling about that. (references a off topic ramble of mine, gratefully not published, that was embarrassing yet had one neat thing in a wantonly long comment I frivolously submitted)

          cheers!/jxj

  1. Hi Joe. I know it’s a bit early and you haven’t even put your feet up yet but do you think you’ll do an Audience with Joe in Shanghai?

  2. I see Bernie is finally getting into creating filums and he’s starting right at the beginners level. His website has a published a (humerous) review of the year, but using 30 year old sound and graphics. No point in spending too much money, these ‘ere computers might not catch on.

  3. Great season’s review Joe. The writing as crunchy as always and the pics are stand out excellent. Many thanks to all involved for the hard work – it’s been a pleasure to read them all.

    1. When I read it I assumed it was because he’s Nico’s “Pop” (Dad), and he likes a drink… if I’ve guessed wrong then apologies to KR, NR and DT!

  4. An occasional subscriber, just signed up for 2017. Would be great if GP+ was published in a phone friendly format (ebook, behind a pay-wall on this site etc.).

  5. Very pleased to see that the old “Your comment is awaiting moderation.” thing is back again, rather than new posts being totally invisible after one’s posted them. Thank you Joe!

    1. nevertheless we can still post Lads! and as long as we do it with some intelligence, tolerance and respect to Creator of this blog, thus long He will give us perhaps the most analytic and knowledgeable information on behind the scenes ongoings in F1 and hopefully keeps FF1F series going as well

  6. Time to sign up, especially if there’s a piece on Peter Stayner. I have personal reason to be grateful to him for a small act of kindness in 1991. I was saddened to learn of his passing just before Abu D and am really interested to learn more about him from people that knew him and worked with him. Sounds like a very rare person in F1; one of the good guys; a real gent….. RIP Peter; I’ll never forget your kindness in 1991.

  7. Great review Joe. You guys always do a stellar job!
The first picture is one of the most stunning F1 pictures I’ve got to see. I see it credits Peter J Fox, who is also in the creditor the Rosberg family shot. Was he some sort of official Rosberg photographer?

Thanks for all your hard work Joe and team. Enjoy the winter break!

  8. Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it was
super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the
whole thing. Do you have any points for novice
blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

  9. Hi Joe, Avid silent reader of your blog here and I think you guys do an awesome job of bringing us mortal the insider perspective. Have you guys thought about offering GP+ on a per episode basis as well?
