the inside story…

If you’re an Australian Formula 1 fan and you are planning to be in Melbourne, and you want to know more about the sport, but cannot find good information in the clutter of F1 social media, here is a suggestion: I am going to be hosting the first post-COVID live Audience with Joe at the West Beach Bathers Pavilion at 330A Beaconsfield Parade, St Kilda, on April 8. This is easily accessible from Albert Park and right on the beach.

The event will start at 7.30pm so there will be time to get there after the last track action of the day.

For those who don’t know the format, it is very simple: you ask questions, eat, drink and have a good time. For those know the format please leave comments here, for those who don’t know the format, read the comments. Fans love these events.

Tickets cost A$70 a head and will not be available on the door, so if you want to come, sign up in advance, to avoid disappointment. Attendance is limited to make sure everyone gets the chance to ask questions.

It is a great venue with great food and drink. To sign up for tickets, click here.

  1. Unfortunately we shall not be in Melbourne so Buzz and Giraffe are spared our company. And you are spared my stupid questions….It would have been nice to also attend the geriatrics’ lunch on post GP Monday – have a good time and regards to our Antipodean mates.

  2. I went to this last time I went down to Melbourne. Joe answers questions and speaks about stuff you won’t find in mainstream media. Well worth attending, an enjoyable evening and a great location.

  3. Did this in 2017 at COTA, had a blast. Joe knows most everything. It was a very interesting night.

  4. Hey Joe,

I love your writing and enjoy the speed it comes out, and am happy to live with the occasional minor wrong or missing word… I know form my own measly writing attempts, that editing one’s own work is difficult to be 100% perfect.

But your latest GP+ (issue 321 Saudi Arabia) has an editing error meaning one of your articles is cut off short with a completely missing ending. I was really enjoying your “Laser Beam Intelligence” which starts on page 31 but the last bit of the article on page 35 is just an incomplete and un-concluded quote…

It reads… …explained FIA Single- Seater Technical Director Nikolas Tombazis. “Because of that we needed to up the game on checks, so we have

And a new (also great) article starts on page 36.

I re-downloaded the pdf incase you had rectified the problem from an early release, but the lack of conclusion is still there. Would you be able to share the end of the article either in this blog, or by releasing an addendum on the GP+ page?
