British engineer Russ Bost of Benfleet in Essex, decided that he wanted a new road car but he could not find anything that really excited him. So back in 2005 he decided to build a very special kit-car, based on Formula 1 designs. He went through the necessary processes to make the car road legal, with number plates, headlights and a tax disc. Bost admits that beneath the racy exterior the car is rather more practical than the average F1, including running at a ride-height that allows it to go comfortably over bumps. The car can be converted to take two people if the airbox is removed. Since then Bost has been building cars for customers as well. The cars are sold by a a company called Furore Formula One Kitcar.
Didn’t realize it was the first of April
Funny how this headline came up in my RSS reader very close to “Caterham makes changes to design team”.
Remarkable – I can’t help but feel that if F1 cars were obliged to adopt the same ride height the racing would be a good deal more entertaining.
looks like a Caterham with wings
. . . looks like the new Caterham should look like . . .
with a few minor cosmetic tweaks
“Furore Formula One Kitcar.”
I spy lawsuits ahoy.
I’ve met Russ. He’s a lovely guy. I bought some bits for my bike from him and he was happy to show me the cars and chat about them.
Nice, but the really important question is how it looks after its tyres
No Renault Logo……….is this a hint!!
Poor bloke, I bet he gets booed at every time he gets out…
Choosing a Red Bull livery in England, this guy must be a masochist 😉
Nailed it!
Things you see when you have not got a gun! Lol. Now I remember why I left Essex!
Heck of a way for Red Bull to get around the in season testing ban 😉
