Incidentally and completely unrelated; is there anything to be read into the fact that Sutil’s trial for (allegedly) sticking an (alleged) champagne glass into (allegedly) Eric Lux’s (alleged) neck is in Munich? The same city as the trial relating to an (alleged) payment that was (allegedly) made to Herr Gribkowsky? Or have I been watching F1 for too long?

As Proton has been sold, with the government more or less admitting defeat, presumably the same will be done with Lotus by its new owner so he can make Proton profitable.
I hope TF is interesting in owning GL along with CT Cars! I’ve said for some time that Caterham and Lotus would sit well together on AND off track. Top drivers in the lotus F1 team and Caterham F1 would be the rooky test bed…or maybe I’ve got that the wrong way around.
i guess the whole thing went pear shaped the moment there were two teams called lotus on the grid.
Caterham, maybe they could sell smoked bacon, too.
Lotus is a great brand, and the cars aren’t too far behind, despite themselves.

I watched a programme about the Dubai proerty collapse the other day. Another train wreck. F1 is also a potential train wreck, a stack of cards waiting to collapse.
Only a few teams are really independent and strongly financial, the rest built on sand, like Dubai, and all it needs is a couple of shakes and some liquefaction and its all going to come crashing down.
Joe, I thought “Callan” was all about the SIS…Starred Edward Woodward and contained many characters including the public schoolboy “Toby Meares”, “Control”, the lovely “Liz”, “Control’s” secretary, a psychopathic psychiatrist and “Lonely” Callan’s criminal side kick. TV show back in the cold war days of the late ’60’s early 1970’s.
Not to forget “Cross” and Lonely. A great pity that the BBC seems to have lost all but the first episode *Red file for Callan” (the one with the spear strike)
